Our Annual Gear Swap 🔄


Let’s be real, we all have that gear graveyard in the shed. The dusty pile of once-loved outdoor stuff you swore you'd use again. Maybe your adventures got bigger. Maybe your kids did. Maybe you upgraded your gear and just haven’t let go of that one paddle with emotional value.

We get it — we’ve been there. That’s why we totally support reduce, reuse, recycle… and rehome your gear.


The Gear Swap: Like a Garage Sale, But Way More Exciting

Every spring, we host an outdoor gear swap and sale — a chance to clean out your gear stash, make some extra cash or store credit, and maybe find your next favourite piece of gear.

The date is usually in May and depends on staffing so stay tuned to our socials and website.

Here’s how it works:

SWAP

We’re selective about what can be sold, no broken zippers, missing parts, or mystery smells, please. This way, you know everything at the swap is actually worth picking up.

Bring us:

Clean outdoor clothing and technical gear (yes, clean; no mystery camping funk, and no undergarments… please. Ew.)

  • Backpacks
  • Paddling stuff
  • Winter gear
  • Kayaks, canoes, SUPs
  • Basically, anything you’d use for a solid outdoor adventure
  • You just might spot something you didn’t know you needed. 

SALE

No clue what to charge? Totally normal. We don’t set your prices, but we’ll let you know what a similar item might sell for new. Keep in mind:

  • Age
  • Condition
  • Mileage (literal or emotional)

Just remember: memories don’t add monetary value for buyers. If you really want it gone, price it to move.

If You’re Selling:

  • Get 100% store credit or 90% cold hard cash
  • Bring your stuff in clean and ready to go (we don’t mend, wash, or untangle anything)

If You’re Buying:

  • The price on the tag is what you pay
  • Debit & credit accepted, but cash is best, it just makes the day smoother for everyone

 

Guidelines:

  • Drop Off:
    • Gear: Up to 2 weeks before the sale
    • Big stuff (bikes, boats, roof racks): 2 days before — we love them, but we don’t have the space to store them until sale day.
  • Sale Day: Starts at 9:00 a.m., winds down around 3:00–3:30 p.m.
  • Sellers:
    • We’ll call you after the sale to let you know what sold
    • Payouts (cash or credit) ready at 4:00 p.m. (We need time for calculations)
  • Pickup:
    • Grab unsold gear by Saturday at 5:30 p.m. or Sunday from 12:00–5:00 p.m.
    • Gear left for over 2 weeks with no word from you? It’ll be donated to a good cause. (No ghosting, please.)
